Christmas Goodness

Well we had a pretty good Christmas this year. We did pretty good when it came to getting the good stuff. Bryan of course got a new XBOX 360 since his last one recently died and he recieved the new game that he wanted, Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2. We also got a new camping table from my parents, a fire pit from Bryan's parents, and quite a few new games of cards and board nature. I got a new sewing machine, True Blood Season 1 (which if you know me, I love True Blood), Beatles Rockband, a bread maker, and a cricut for a first. Woo hoo! Also got some new clothes, an electric toothbrush, and Muse tickets for the concert on April 5th. Gotta love it. Did really good for Christmas. We also did the traditional clam chowder Christmas Eve, and the carriage ride down town, slept over at my parents, and got breakfast in bed. We also actually was able to go somewhere for my birthday this year for dinner. We went to Cafe Trang downtown. It was good other than we had a bad waiter. He was really terrible. Everyone else had had their food for about 15 minutes before my dad and I got ours. Then he disappeared when we asked for more drinks and we had to ask the bus boy for things. Our waiter had only 4 tables and could not handle it. But all in all a good time this year.

We also got to go see two movies this weekend which was a real treat for us since we are kind of broke. I have such an awesome mom that hooked us up with tickets. We went and saw Sherlock Holmes which was a good show. I did not think it would be but I really liked it. We also got to see Avatar in 3D which was freakin' awesome. Both Bryan and I fell in love with the movie. It was like a modern day FernGully if anyone actually remembers that show. We loved it though, so good to see it in 3D I think that made it twice as good. Hope all is well with everyone and everyone had good holidays. We also have recently seen the Ugly Truth and Wolverine Origins. They both are great movies and we really enjoyed them.

Pictures and Snow

Well we had a pretty good weekend this week. The weekend started off with snow. Yeah to the snow for sure since Saturday, Brittney got to go up snowboarding at Brighton Ski Resort. It had been a while that is for sure. Over a year actually since I had hit the slopes. It was a blast! I am really starting to master the heel to toe edge quite well and I have started learning to read snow and even point the board down hill a little more with each run. The ultimate accomplishment is that I have mastered getting off the ski lift without crashing and burning! Woo Hoo!! All of these accomplishments are thanks to Danny, my brother in law. He is freakin' awesome at snow boarding and stuck with us the whole day helping out. He wanted to vidoe record my sister and I to help teach us but the snow was coming down and not a good idea when that happens. All in all, a really good trip.

We also had fun getting to watch Max man this weekend. My parents got to go to Colorado Springs, CO for my mom's work and let us watch Max their dog for a night. He is such a doll, I love him to death. He loves to snuggle and he just follows us everywhere.

Bryan had traffic school this weekend that as he put it "Really sucks and was really boring." Mind you we don't think that Bryan should have been there to begin with. About a month ago Bryan was driving to school when the person in front of him slammed on their brakes. Bryan being aware that the person behind him was following too closely, and knowing there was no one in the lane next to them, turned into the lane next to them to avoid being hit from behind. Well the person behind him came around Bryan and slid into his truck. The officer talked with Bryan and the man who hit him and the man who hit Bryan admitted to Bryan it was his fault but then lied to the officer telling him Bryan turned into him. Bryan being the non-argumenative guy he his took his ticket from the officer without question. Now Bryan is having to pay for all the damage to the vehicles. He had to go to traffic also so the ticket would not hurt his record. Man, you have to love justice.

We also watched a couple movies on Sunday. It was snowing at our house and we really did not want to go anywhere so we stayed in for the day. We watched the Ugly Truth and Wolverine Origins. Both movies were quite good. We liked them both and recommend them to anyone looking for a good movie to watch. One is a comedy and the other is a little more suspense full. The Ugly Truth was freakin' hilarious at various points but still had those little romance moments. We also kind of found it to be a little predictable. But all in all a good movie. Then Wolverine Origins we liked also because it even showed some of the older X-Men, the original ones that were in the cartoons. Also it gave a background of Wolverine and you finally get closer as to how he became the way he is. Good stuff.

Thanksgiving

Well we had a really good Thanksgiving this year. We first to start the holiday out right went and helped Danny and Darcy throw their paper route for the morning. Those papers were really thick and heavy but with all four of us on the job we got done in no time. We even got home at five where most did not get home until after seven. We were smart about it too. We divided the papers in half among us and Bryan and I started the route while Danny and Darcy threw it backwards and we all met in the middle. It went well. Then we went to parent's house after taking a nap where we met up with my Grandma, her fiance, my cousin, and my aunt and uncle. This was the first time that we got to meet my grandma's fiance. He was really nice and his name is Larry. They are getting married the wedsenday after Christmas. We are all happy for her that she is happy but will still continue to miss the late Mr. D. We ate some of the best food ever with yummy everything that is expected on Thanksgiving. Rich, my cousin that just got home from his mission a few months ago gave the blessing. It was alot of fun since we had so many with us this year we had a kid table where Darcy, Danny, Bryan, Rich, and myself all got to sit at and make jokes. We then went through the ads and planned our attack for Black Friday. Bryan and I then went over to his parents for dinner as well. It was pretty good and we had fun hanging out with them. We then went back to my parents and played games most of the night until 11:30pm came along when we left for our venture of shopping.
We first went to Toys'R'Us for the midnight shopping. Wow! What a mistake that was. Although we saved massively it really was a joke. People were just mad for the toys and there was probably about 3,000 people there. Madness! We got into the door within 20 mintues but then stood in line for about 2 and half hours just to get to the electronics department to get what we were there for. Then we went home for about an hour before leaving again for JCPenney's 4:00 am sale. We got everything we were looking for when we were there which was great. There wasn't anything that we didn't get come to think of it. Which Bryan too said that he got everything that he was looking for. We then went to Sears soon followed by Smith's Marketplace for the socks half off sale. We did really good. Then we all met at our infamous breakfast place, Jim's family restaurant for some good food before leaving for work.
Well Bryan did not have work all of last week though which concerns us. We are afraid he might get laid off again and he had to go an entire week without pay which reallly hurt us. Well we go on I guess. Now we have the wonderful countdown to Christmas. Only 23 days left until then.
I also started a diet again. I doing good thus far already losing 2 pounds. Doing good just to keep it up. I know I am crazy for dieting during the holidays but it is when I am not on a diet that I eat the most and holidays so hopefully I will get through this holiday alive. Well we will continue to keep all up to date and as soon as I locate my camera from the Abyss that I have misplaced it in, I will post our latest photos too.

Latest Movie Watchings

Well haven't done an update on some of the latest movie watchings so here we are:

Well these are the ones that I can remember at this point for movies we have seen. The first one is Year One. We thought it was hilarious with that lovely dry sense of humors that we have. It is a complete spoof of Apacalypto and the other Jesus timed films. The two main characters of this show just compliment each other with their screen presence and their experience with comedy shows and films, in other words, we liked.

The Taking of Pelham 123 Bryan really liked but I must admit I am not much of a fan. I like John Travolta but this one I don't like very much. I found it to be a B movie. Bryan loves anything that has these kind of plots and he liked. The script was good, the acting was good as well.

The Vampire's Assistant. I was not aware when we went to see this one that it is actually based off a novel series. I liked it. Unfortunately I don't think we will see the sequel because others did not find it that good. I love characters in this movie and they are great characters combined with good actors. I hope to see the sequel if it does come out.

Not much

Well there is not much new to report this week. We spent the week working (of course) and really was lazy most of the weekend. We spent most of Saturday running little errands then spent the evening at my parental's house. Bryan watched the U of U vs TCU game with my padre while me madre and I watched Bride Wars for the first time and talked about the lovely life that is my family. We then went to church on Sunday, and had our good friends Brad and Brie and their little cutie, Xander, over for dinner. He has gotten so big and I still remember the day he was born. We had just finished watching the fireworks going off at Magna park fourth of july in 2008. I was trying to drive to parent's house because we were watching their hosue while they were on vacation. As I sat in a line that seemed not to be moving and a mile long as well, I suddenly saw a blue jeep go zooming by me on the shoulder kicking up all sorts of dust. I recognized the jeep as Brad's jeep and figured he was just driving his usual crazy self. I later found out that Brie had gone into labor and they were rushing to the hospital. As soon as I got off work the next day, Xander Man had already been born and I went to see him in the hospital. He was so cute and what seemed big baby but tiny in comparison to how big he is now. He is walking, talking little, and laughing now which melts my heart. He is so CUTE!! Bryan loves him to death and has such a good time when he comes over. We have some really good friends and really enjoy getting to just hang out with them. We played one of Brie's favorites Skipbo card game. Three games total. I won the first, Brie won the second and Brad won the third. (Skipbo is not Bryan's best game.) All in all a good weekend with not having to do much and just relaxing most of the days. Ahhh...

An update

Wow! It has been a long time since I have updated this thing. I need to get better at this. Well a lot has happened just in the past week even. I am now working two jobs again. Well I never really stopped I guess. I do janitorial work at nights after my day job. I work at the Riverton Church Office building off of bangeter highway and 13600 south in Riverton just cleaning cubicles and offices. Nothing fancy by any means but I love it in comparison to the paper route. BEST NEWS EVER !!! NO MORE PAPER ROUTE!!! WOO HOO!!! I cannot express how much happier we are now that we do not have to do the evil paper route. We were grateful for it because it made it possible for us to pay our bills. So glad that it is over with though. I now only have to work an additional 20 hours a week and it is at night. Not at 2 o'clock in the morning every day including holidays. Love it. I also have some really wonderful people that I work with and they are all so nice that it is really not that bad at all to do janitor work. It could be worse so I am very grateful for the job. Another great set of news would be that Bryan now has a job!!! He is working hard and getting in a lot of hours. It is wonderful. And even better news, Bryan passed his Union test!!! Woo Hoo! That is actually a really hard test and I am very proud of him. The math is hardest and not always his strongest subject but he passed and did wonderfully. He just has to interview and he will be in!! Yeah to more health insurance, 401K, and a actual future of a job. Double coverage on dental... MUCH needed. Things are really looking up in that aspect...
Our newest addition Blue is growing quickly and he is such a cutie!! He now has one blue eye and one brown. The brown eye has changed colors a few time being it started out brown, went gray, then green, and has decided to be a brown eye now. He is weighing in at 28 pounds which is exactly where he should be. Daisy the beast is now weighing in at 80 pounds. Wow! Chew man is still tipping the scale at 18 pounds. He is so tiny but so cute! Henry and Gretchen are starting to get along better too. Gretchen made her first kills too a couple of weeks ago. We are not really cat people by any means but got the cats to help with the mice that like to come into our house since we live around so many fields. Henry has been taking care of all the outside mice but recently with the colder weather the mice have made their ways into the house. Two were having a party everyday in our closet in our living room. Well we opened the closet door and Gretchen stood watch everyday for about two weeks. She then got her first one and left it for Bryan to find. She was so proud of herself she even got the other one the next day. We are so proud of her. She is doing better but we fear she may have blindness taking over in one of her eyes. She does fine though.
Got a different car now too. Had to sell my baby the Mazda 6 because $350 per tire is too much out of our budget. Can't afford it anymore. So we traded it in for a 2007 Ford 500. Liking it. Not my favorite but it is a good car and is practical.
Darcy and Danny finally tied the knot this year as well. The wedding went perfectly with no hitches. I have to say I love weddings so much. It always reminds me of the days that Bryan and I said our I do's. Talk about a perfect day. Nothing went aray that day and I love Bryan so much I cherish all of our time that we spend together. It is wonderful. Yeah we have our disagreements and our lives are not perfect by any means, but I can't see my life any other way than with one another. Our fights don't last more than 30 minutes at the most and find new ways to show each other we love one another everyday. It is wonderful and I love married life.
Bryan just a birthday as well. He got a game from me along with refills for his razor. I know lame second gift but money always seems to be tight with us. He got a Lowe's gift card from my parents, a gift card to Home Depot from his Aunts and Uncle, and the new Halo game from Darcy and Danny. He had a good b-day. We had dinner with all of us plus his awesome aunts and uncle Lee, Roxie, and Susie. They are wonderful and we love having them around. We also played battle of the sexes board game and had fun with that as well. We loved it.
We did not get to do much camping this year which really bummed us out but that was all do to the paper route. It was too much of a pain to find someone to throw our paper route so we didn't get to go. But this next year we will camping every weekend almost. I have already planned most of it out including the Subway in Zion's national park. I can't wait.
Well I also lost 43 pounds as well. A lot to lose and still working on it.
Well I will hopefully keep this thing more up to date.

Been too long

Wow it has been a while since we have posted a blog. I suck I know. Well let's start with the job update. Bryan is still out of work but he is studying currently to take the electrical union test at the end of September and hopefully get on with union work and have a job with actual benefits which would be very nice. He is continuing to do as much as he can to find another job. Well I got another job though. Starting on the 8th of September I will be doing janitorial work at the church office building that they have in Riverton right after work. It will be nice I think plus I will not have to get up at 2:00 am with Bryan every morning to throw the paper route. Bryan is going to keep throwing the route until he is employed and then no more 2:00 am. Woo hoo! We recently added a new addition to our family. His name is Blue and he is an Australian Sheppard/Beagle mix. He is such a cute dog and we love him to death. We named him Blue because of his sky blue eye that he has. His other eye is also turning green and so we will have a green blue eyed dog. We saw him and just melted. We had to get him. So yes we have three dogs now. Don't worry we are applying for a kennel license so we can have them all legally. Darcy's wedding is getting closer and closer. We had her bridal shower this weekend and it was fun. She got so many little lingerie things she was very happy with the turnout. She has some wonderful people around her to spoil her for her shower. I got her a black and red teddy that she likes and luckily fits her perfectly. We also recently went down to Goblin Valley and helped them take their bridal pictures. She is so beautiful in her dress and I can't believe that she is getting married. I am so happy for her. Her wedding is on the 18th of September at the Memorial Grove Park. Also another good note would be the fact that I have lost 48.5 pounds to look better at her wedding. I have gone from a 22 to a 16 in 3 months. More weight to lose but I think I can do it. I am excited to wear my dress also. Also just an update on our movie watching. We have not got to see much lately but have seen The Last House on the Left recently. It was a good movie but oh my goodness the rape scene in it would make anyone sick to their stomach. It is terrible to watch. I couldn't watch it. ME of all people who loves scary, creepy, and disturbing movies. I could not watch it. Also I recently have watched Nick and Norah's Infinite Playlist, Burn After Reading, and The Year of the Dog. Nick and Norah was a cute movie. I love the actors and actresses in it and it was really a different film that you grow to like alot. Burn After Reading got too complicated though. I was lost through most of the movie and the ending was really terrible actually. The Year of the Dog was different also. I liked it just... different. Well this is a pretty big update and if I think of anything else that we forgot to share I will definately let you all know. Later.

This Last Weekend

Well since we have been throwing my sister's fiance's paper route for the past 6 days let me just tell you how hard the weekend was. Throwing over 600 papers in 2 and a half hours really kicks a person's butt! Bryan and I had a very tiring weekend throwing our masses of papers into the dark. So as a result we really did no work around house or anything. We still have the one side strip to finish in our yard with gravel and the dogs room to put pergo down. Also now our lovely heavy dog, Daisy has destroyed the stairs that lead to the backyard and now we have to replace those as well. Life is a real peach but don't worry the poop will fall out. Famous words from my padre. So we caught a matinee on Saturday and went and saw Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs.
It was a good one and I really enjoyed it and so did Bryan. It is good for kids with a little adult humor in there. The squirrel creature really plays a big role in this one and almost steals the show with his obsession with a new love another squirrel and his acorn. Great movie and I highly recommend it. It was so much fun just going on a little date with my hubby and acting like we were dating again like before we were married. It was nice to see a clean movie that we could both laugh at so it really is a good movie for all occasions.

Then later that night we went with our good friends Brad and Brieanna to see Transformers 2.
Transformers 2 was absolutely packed with action and it was constant. It was a great movie as well. I was really impressed with the plot being that it never lagged on what needed to be done. There was only a small love affair on the side and did not over power the movie nor detract from it. If you like constant action, good special effects, and good acting this is the one for you. We all enjoyed it and was glad we got the opportunity to see it.

We had a good lazy days but then once we got home from the movies it was time to leave to throw papers. So we went 18 hours without sleep and crashed when we got home. So all in all it was a good weekend except for those lovely paper routes. But hopefully Bryan will get a job soon and we can quit those or I can get the job I recently applied for at the Church office building just doing janitorial work. It would be nice. I would save on gas and mileage and most of all my sanity. I can handle janitorial much easier. So good luck wishes to both of us and we will continue to keep you all up to date. Later.

Quick update in photos

Just a quick update on what has been going on in our lives. We now have grass and flowers in our yard and not just dirt and PVC pipe. We have sprinklers, lanterns, and flowers planted around the tree in the front. Now all we have left on our yard is the side strip where all we need to do is rip out the old dead grass and fill with gravel and then we are done with our front yard. Now only to tackle the back yard. Bryan is hoping to get a job he heard about a few days ago. We are hoping he gets it but it would not be ideal in that it is up in Brigham City which is about 120 miles round trip from our house so he would have to stay up there to work He would get reimbursed but it would be a lonely time without Bryan by my side. We are currently watching two crazy doggies that are my sister's and her fiance's Ringo and Marley. They are some big dogs and we took them for a walk yesterday. Needless to say they walked us is more accurate. We are also throwing their route for the time being and let me tell you, over 600 papers in three hours is hard to do. Bryan and I have had fun lately taking walks at night and what not and we have finally managed to make it back to church. Mostly just wake more like it. We have volunteered at the new Oquirrah Mountain temple and are doing again on the 16th of this month. We will get to be ushers this time so I think it will be a very rewarding experience. Unfortunately Bryan's grand uncle passed away this week, Ferris. We did not get much of a chance to get to know him but he will be missed. Well that is pretty much everything going on in our lives right now and I finally printed all the photos from last year and just realized some of them are not on here and I think I need a little update. Here they are. Enjoy!
Bryan and I went downtown to Temple Square the weekend after Christmas in 2007 and tested out my camera that I had gotten. We had a blast just running around, goofing off, and testing out my new toy. I love my camera. It is definitely my baby and I have a wonderful husband that spoiled me and got it for me.

We finally found Bryan's camera and got to upload the photos on it. Believe it or not there were photos on there from our cruise/honeymoon. Ones of me actually which he took. Here are a few we found.

Yes that is right, we caught Santa Clause on his vacation in the Caribbean. Just kidding. We actually had the Association of Real Bearded Santas on our cruise line. Every corner you would turn you would see a Santa Clause. They dressed with red and white and wore all sorts of Santa vacation shirts and what not. These guys really get into it. It was awesome.

Here are some photos from my birthday dinner at McGrath's restaurant. Our food was wonderful except for Dad's because according to him "I am a salmon conesore and this salmon is terrible and it is more like Jordan River salmon." Padre is hilarious and this is quite often a memory that we continue to bring up at the table all the time.

I got the wonderful chance of a lifetime and got to go to the Rigby Temple erected just this last year with my cousin, aunt, and uncle. It was so beautiful inside and a wonderful place. This was right before my cousin, Jason left for his mission so it was something wonderful that I got to experience with him before he left for his two years. Man I miss him and I have missed my other cousin on his mission as well. He comes home in August and I am so excited to see him again. Richie we have been told looks like my twin and we have been close ever since we were little. I can't wait to see them both come home safely again.

We also took some updating photos of our little "kids" that take up most of our time. Daisy, Chewy, H-man, and Gretchen.

You maybe asking yourself what the hell is that in the picture above. That is Daisy laying against the shed in the sun. I could not resist taking this picture because see our destroyed yard... she did it all. She would destroy the grass by running on it with her massive paws, she had gotten a hold of the vacuum and used the attachment as a chew toy, ripped boards from the fence and chewed on them and managed to tear some of the garbage from the can and play with it in the yard. This picture says it all and doesn't she just look so innocent?

Chewy as a clean little man. Isn't he handsome?

We went camping in the high Uintas. The difference is you need a four wheel vehicle to get there and it is completely away from any civilization. You use tents not campers nor trailers and man it really is nature up there. Bryan and I sat for a good half hour listening to a moose calling in the distance at one point and every morning you could see new tracks through your camp site. It was the best.

Chewy as a rag mop. He camps best when he looks like this.

What a great Kodak moment. I love my little family.

Darcy and Danny kept arguing on where they wanted to hike so I thought I would snap a little lovely moment of silence they were taking.
