All Grown Up

It is so funny how fast time flies even when things are miserable. It seems like just yesterday we got Blue outside the Wal-Mart parking lot to complete our little zoo that goes on in our house. He is an australian sheppard/beagle mix. He is such a cutie for sure. We took him to the strut your mutt walk this last Saturday and he loved it. He is such a friendly dog that every dog and person there just loved him. He is a strong one though. I have never had him pull me along like he did for the walk and there were a few times he almost took my arm out of the socket. It was so funny. On the way to pick up my mom and Boston that morning, I kept hearing Blue in the backseat (since Daisy takes up the whole front seat) sniffing and getting into anything he could in my car. After the beating of having to just hold on for dear life walk that we took and we dropped mom and Boston off again, I could hear him again in the backseat. But this time I could hear him getting into plastic sacks. I looked back when I stopped at a light to find him just shredding a plastic sack. I grabbed it from him and placed it under my leg for the rest of the ride home. Well without fail, sure enough, I hear another plastic sack and look back and this time he had shredded the sack even more and little tiny pieces of it were flying through the air in the backseat just coating everything. "NO" I yelled as I went to grab what remained of the destroyed sack but soon stopped just to admire. He had this look on his face like "I did nother wrong, plus you know I'm cute and you love me so I am going to get away with this." He is such a cutie and I am blessed to have such great animals in my life and that I can care for them and make their lives great. I found some old pictures of him from when he was just a puppy and I have to share them because there is nothing more precious than a small puppy playing with the cat's toy while she watches in horror.

That blue thing he is playing with is Gretchen the cat's toy mouse. She watched him like a hawk while he played with it.

Baby Blue all grown up. He is full grown now at 26 pounds but he still has that loving puppy attitude. He loves to snuggle with mommy too. He will jump up on me when ever he gets the chance and wraps his paws around my waist. He then sticks his head into my stomach and looks up at me like "Love me, I need attention."

The whole gang after Strut Your Mutt.

Me and my pups! (Minus Chewy because he does not do too well on the leash, but we still love him all the same)

Good Weekend

Well we had a pretty good weekend. We went and saw Iron Man 2 which is a movie that Bryan has wanted to see for a while. It was pretty good other than the ending fight was a little anti-climatic I thought. I kind of wanted a little more battle to go on between Rhodes, Tony, and the Russian guy when they fought in the end. But all in all a good movie for sure.

We also red boxed a couple movies for our Sunday night. We watched The Descent 2 and Legion. The Descent 2 really did ruin the first movie for us. In the first movie they ended it with making you think that all of the 5 girls that went down into an uncharted cave system died. Well apparently in an attempt to make more money, one of the girls survives but has no memories of what had happened and if her friends were alive even. So they make her, a crazy distraught victim, go back down into the cave system to help in finding the missing bodies. She finally remembers what happens and tries to escape out of the system before the blind sound sensing creatures find them. Then it is just a matter of time before everybody starts getting killed off one by one. Also Juno, the character from the first movie that was left for dead, makes an appearance near the end. They left you assuming that everyone dies again and the chances that Juno, the girl that was stabbed in the leg and left for dead in the first movie, actually surviving and not killing Sarah, the girl who left her for dead, is really small. I liked the first movie but the second movie was a major let down. Also the supporting actress to the main character I felt was a little wimpy for her being a police officer. Also I got pretty mad that the two rescue people got it so quickly like they did. I don't know. All in all not one anyone really wants to see.

Legion was a good one. Both Bryan and I really liked it. It is about Paradise Falls, a po dunk out in the middle of nowhere town where a pregnant waitress, a diner owner and his son live. The pregnant girl, Charlie, does not know where the baby daddy is and is about 8 months pregnant. A couple with their young daughter were in the diner due to their car breaking down and a man shortly shows up, lost and looking to use a phone. The movie really starts to get interesting when an old lady shows up and ends up trying to kill everyone by being possessed. Then the plot really comes out when a mysterious man shows up with lots of guns and ammunition. What is happening is that God had lost his faith in mankind and decides to send his angels to possess people and take over the world and exterminate mankind. Gabriel and Michael are his sons that are angels and Michael is given an order to kill the baby of the waitress being that this baby is the only hope that mankind has for peace. Michael escapes heaven to cut off his wings and go to help the unsuspecting diner people is fending off all of the angels that are about to arrive to try to kill everyone. Gabriel is then made in charge of the extermination. It was a good one. We liked the effects of it and the story line. It also had some good actors in it that we liked. We would recommend this one for sure.

Other than watching some movies this weekend, I, Brittney, went and strutted our mutts at the 15th annual strut your mutt this year at veterans memorial park in west jordan. It was a blast. Blue was curious as ever and even almost yanked my arm out of the socket more than once trying to say hi to all the dogs and people. Daisy had a good time too but she slowed down after a while and enjoyed her walk. I will post pictures of all the lastest as soon as I convert all my photos from raw to jpeg on the computer. My mom went with me and brought Boston, our westie and he was struttin'. It was a lot of fun and I loved seeing all the different types of dogs and their owners. It was for a good cause too in making no more homeless pets in Utah. It was great and we got some free t-shirts, a frisbee, and some great information on supplies in Utah for our doggies.

A good weekend for us and we really are looking forward to this next weekend at Twin Lakes in Idaho. We will slowly pack throughout the week and hopefully it will be good weather for us.

How are things going?

Well right now, things are just going for us. We are still scrapping by on faith, love, and hard work. I am still working two jobs as usual and that has been exhausting. I finally finished the semester. A- in Business Law, B+ in Applied Business Calculus, and B+ in Statistics. All in all not a bad semester. I have missed going to school. I know that sounds totally crazy and out of this world but you miss doing hard work and actually seeing the benefits and the sense of accomplishment that follows that hard work with a reward of a good grade.

Bryan is working for the Census Bureau and it is okay for him. He is starting to run into alot of illegal immigrants not wanting to participate and paranoid people that think the government is too evil to know how many people live in their homes. He is not enjoying very much but at least it is bringing home the bacon.

Blue, Daisy and myself will be walking in the Strut your Mutt this year. I will make sure to take lots of pictures and post them later if I ever find the time for sure!

So this last weekend was a fun one for sure! On Saturday, while Bryan got in the rest of his hours for work, my sister, Darcy, and myself went for a hike. We ended up going to the living room which is located above the U of U. We took Blue, Ringo, and Marley. They had a blast. The dogs loved getting to roam around the trail as we made our way up. Blue and Marley are becoming great friends and Blue and Marley just follow each other every where. Blue couldn't quite figure out the drinking out of a camel pack very well but he eventually got it. I have never met a dog that did not know how to drink out of the hose. It was funny though. As we were making our way up the mountain we ran into a couple with their kids. The guy had said he had been up there many times but never found it and knew that there was two ways up. The fast way was a lot steeper than the slow way. Darcy and I took the slow way up and once we got up there we decided to take the fast way down. Well we lost the trail and ended up going all the way along the ridge of mountain climbing over all these rocks and the dogs kept loooking at us as if we were nuts. I looked down below us at one point because we were no longer going down and realized a small trail below us. We made our way down and started following that which eventually led us to the trail we needed. We felt kind of stupid but we made it out alive.
