Fun Days Off

Bryan and I were able to spend quite a bit of time together this last week. I have really been slacking on taking pictures and I apologize for that. I will eventually get back into it all. Bryan had all of last week off. We originally had asked for the time off for a family vacation that got canceled due to my dad having a knee replacement. He just relaxed each day and night until I was off. Then we were able to hang out and go do things together. I had Thursday through Monday off.

Thursday we really just hung out and got some lose errands that needed to be done finished. We went to downtown Salt Lake originally to go to the Salt Lake Art Center but we did not make it in time. Instead we went into Temple Square and sat by the reflection pool and people watched. Bryan and I love people watching and just talking. It is so much fun to watch people and how they act when they think no one is looking.

We ended up staying there until almost dark. We then went and got some yummy pizza at the Pizza Stop in Magna. Friday we got up early and went and saw the exhibit at the Salt Lake Art Center. It was okay. I am not a huge fan of art exhibits but it was fun to look at everything with Bryan by my side. I actually have to go to a number of events for my Art Symposium Class that I am currently taking only through Utah State University. We then went and took my pop to physical therapy before heading over to my parents house for dinner.

After dinner Bryan and I parted for the evening and my mom and I ended up going shopping and hanging out while Bryan got to go on a ride along with the West Jordan Police Department. Bryan is wanting to become a police officer and the ride along gave him the opportunity to ask questions and really see what it is all about. As Bryan put, he now has the bug, the bug to be a police officer more than anything else in the world. He is very excited and finds out next week for sure if he has financial aid to help with school so he could start in the fall. He got to go to the school yesterday and sign a bunch of paperwork saying that he would finish his classes with a C or better for 30 credit hours before being taken off of academic probation. Bryan did not do too well in the past in his school work. But he is very driven to become a police officer and he is very passionate about helping others. I think he will get financial aid and be going to school in the fall. I will update with a post once we find out. Bryan had a good time on the ride along and even got to see what it takes to take someone to jail and learned a lot of new information and fun tid bits.

Saturday I got up early and loaded the truck with camping gear. Bryan, Blue and I went up to the Uintahs Saturday afternoon and met up with our best friends Brad and Brie and their little boys Xander and Griffin. We went to a lake and played in the just hung out and had fun just relaxing by the water. Blue got to play in the water and I can tell he had fun doing so. He even got to play with Xander and it was so cute to watch. We then went back to camp and Brad and Brie cooked an awesome stew that was delicious.

We then hung out by the campfire after the little ones went to bed and had s'mores and talked until we went to bed. We got the next morning and after packing up we went home for a few hours and got some lazy Sunday rest before going over to my mom and dad's house for yummy dinner and new episode of True Blood. This has become a weekly ritual and we love getting to have yummy dinners and hang out and watch a good show that Bryan and I love watching together. We usually just grab some pillows and snuggle up on the floor in front of the television together.

Monday we got to go see the new Transformer's movie in 3-D. It was really good the action and graphics were great and it was fun to get to see it with Bryan. We went to the matinee to save some money and we were only ones in the theater besides one other guy. It was pretty nice. We then went to Olive Garden for lunch before Bryan had to go to work.

My cousin Rich is in town this week and we have got to hang out with him most nights and it has been good to see and get to talk with the cous. We got to go Tuesday night and see Captain America. It was pretty good. I really enjoyed the movie and how they kept him close to the real character. The only thing I thought could have used improvement was the ending. No closure at all...

I have officially found bedding and sheets for school. My mom and I went shopping last night and we found a great deal on bedding at JCPenney's and we ended up only spend about $20 for the bedding. It was great. My mom is so freaking amazing and I have the best parents in the world. If it were not for them, I would not be able to school like this and I really would not have as great a life as I have if it were not for them. Only 32 more days before my big move to Logan for school. I am getting really nervous but excited at the same time. I actually was even to get some of my school books online from Amazon.com last night. On Amazon the three books I got were only $254 versus $356 at the bookstore. We saved $102 by getting them from Amazon.com. Cha-ching! I know though, in just thinking about it and trying to picturing it, it is going to be hard to be away from Bryan. I love that man so much and just sleeping next to him makes all the difference in the day. All I can say is it will be easier to get up in the morning because when I wake up with him next to me in the morning, I never want to get out of bed. I love listening to music and the lyrics and I have found a couple lately that make me think of Bryan every time I hear them. I am updating the play list that goes with the blog to reflect these songs. The first one is Honey Bee by Blake Shelton. The reason I think of Bryan is because to tell Bryan how much I love him I always give him analogies like he is the peanut butter to my Reese's peanut butter cup, and you are the ocean to my whale, and you are the chocolate chip to my cookie. I love this song because it is what I love about Bryan. Everything I am, he is the strong counter part. The second is Letters From the Sky by Civil Twilight. I love this song because even when we are apart (particularly when I go to school) or all goes wrong, we don't have to worry because we were made for each other. The third one is I Will Follow You Into the Dark by Death Cab for Cutie. I love this song. It is so different and rather morbid but beautiful. That even after death comes, we will be together. So to Bryan I say, you'll be my honeysuckle and I'll be your honey bee and that you and I were made for this, I was made to taste your kiss, we were made to never fall away. If there's no one beside you when your soul embarks, then I'll follow you into the dark.

Fun Times

So it has been a little while since I last updated. We have got to go do a lot of fun things lately. A couple of weekends ago we walked from our house down to 5600 West while the West Valley West Fest was going on. It was a wonderful date night for Bryan and I which we rarely get to be just him and I that often because we are always so busy with other things. The walk was a perfect temperature and once we got to 5600 West right around 6:30 pm. We walked over to Lanta's Frozone and enjoyed some yummy custard that was oh so good for the recent warm temps. If you have not tried this place, you definitely should. It is like creamy ice cream and makes my tummy happy.

After the custard break, we then walked over to the West Valley Family Fitness Center where the festivities were going on. We walked through all the crowds and glanced at the different booths and fun items that people were selling. We then walked over to the entertainment tent and there was none other than John Schmidt with his friend the cellist playing away. I was so excited to get to see him in concert. I am such a big fan of John Schmidt and his songs he plays. He is such a great performer. He even put on a bright red wig at one point while playing and started dancing around. Anyone who watches him perform it is so contagious not to smile and just fall in love with how passionate he is about his playing. I actually got to meet him as well and he signed one of the CD's he had for sale that I bought while there. It was wonderful.

After the concert, the fireworks went off and it was a great show. They handed out these glasses that accentuated the fireworks and made them look kind of trippy in a way. It was a lot of fun. They played patriotic music while the fireworks went off and it was nice to have the extra added effect. We then walked back over to Panda Express and ate dinner before making the walk home. Bryan and I love walking together we get to talk about anything and everything and we really enjoy each others company. I love my husband so much and he is such a wonderful man to have as a walking companion in this life.

Last weekend I woke up early and while Bryan headed over to his parent's house to help with putting in a new water heater, my mom and I got to go to the Farmer's market in downtown Salt Lake. I love hanging out with my mom. She is so much fun to be around and she just brings good energy all the time. We took Boston and Daisy girl with us to the market and they did great and were big hits. There were other westies at the market just like Boston and of course we had to stop and say hi. Daisy got a new collar thanks to my mom who bought it for me for helping with my dad after his knee surgery. She got the pink and white one that has hearts on it from this place called Woof Ware. The owner of the company makes custom and regular collars and leashes that are so cute. Now Daisy girl looks like a lady and so cute with her new collar to show off.

After the Farmer's Market we got to go to Seven Peaks water park in Salt Lake formerly known as Raging Waters with our friends Brad and Brieanna. It was awesome times and at a reasonable price thanks to Groupon. Groupon had a deal that was $19 per person for access to the park, a parking voucher, tube rental, and a combo meal. Groupon is awesome and I can thank Brie for pointing it out to me. It was perfect timing too because the Friday before the Saturday that we went is when the deal went up. Cha Ching!

We went to the water park like I said with our friends Brad and Brieanna. Brad and Bryan have been like best friends since birth. Not really but they did grow up right next to each other and have been good friends ever since. Brieanna and I have become great friends through the association of our husbands and we all have a really good time together when we do get to hang out. We went on all the water slides (except the drop straight down ones, those scare me a little too much), swam in wave pool, and chilled out in the lazy river. It was the first time in a long time that I have been to a water park. Mostly because I avoid exposing my legs and body to the limit of all the time as if death were to approach if I wore a bathing suit in public. It was so much fun though and I really enjoyed. Bryan had not been before to a water park. I remember going all the time. It seems strange to me that he had never been before and I could tell he really enjoyed the water and slides. He used to hate water and now he is a regular fishy like me. We had to spend the time convincing him that it was time to go. He did not want to leave at all but we finally convinced him to go. We then headed back to our friend's house, had pizza, and finished the night off by watching the neighbors letting off their new higher that before fireworks that everyone had gone and bought.

My dad had a knee replacement two weeks ago because his knee had gotten so bad he could barely walk. He will eventually need both knees replaced but he only had one done this time. He is doing really well and he is healing nicely. He has had his grumpy moments since the surgery but we all love him and just want him to get better. He should be out for another 2-4 weeks before back to his normal self again.

Work and school are the same at this point we are just trying to prep for the hard years ahead with me having to go away for school and the time apart will not be easy for us. I try to think what it will be like to wake up in the morning and not have Bryan right next to me. It makes me cry thinking about it and I do not know how I am going to be able to do it. Bryan is so supportive of me and my goals to become a vet and he has decided himself to go to school for Criminal Justice and become a police officer. I think he would be a wonderful police officer to tell the truth. He is so personable and easy to approach and he really is a people person. He has charm as I like to tell him. Also he is all into guns, military, and police work. Those are the majority of the shows he watches and he loves the tactical aspect of it all.
